Canoe to Support Plogen: Klepp's New Hub for Culture and Community

Tina Grønnevik

On 21 November, Plogen opens its doors.

150 employees. Five previously separate services. One building designed from the ground up for collaboration, community, and open meeting places. And Canoe is part of making the transition work.

What Plogen is

Plogen is Klepp's new gathering point for culture, community, and local democracy. Under one roof: the municipal administration, the library, the cultural school, the volunteer centre, and the youth environments that are the lifeblood of any community that takes young people seriously.

This week we got to walk through the building ahead of its opening. Behind the facade is a serious piece of work. Thoughtful spatial planning. Ambition written into the architecture.

What the transition actually requires

Moving 150 people from separate buildings into a shared space is straightforward in logistics and genuinely complicated in human terms.

Different professional cultures. Different rhythms of work. Different assumptions about what collaboration means in practice. If you just move people without addressing those dynamics, you get the same silos in a new postcode.

Canoe's work here is about building the organisational culture that the building deserves. A future-oriented, inclusive culture. One that delivers on the vision the municipality has set out: "Med blikk for alle," with an eye for everyone.

Looking ahead

We're delighted to be part of Plogen's journey from construction site to living meeting place.

Congratulations to Klepp Municipality and everyone who has worked to make this happen.
